Updates

What's new in RoamFolio, one short story per release.

Version 1.10.0

Some days the Camino from your sofa feels very long. You have walked to the shop and around the block, and the little figure on the map has barely moved. So this update gives each day its own small shape.

The Journey screen now opens on today. A ring fills as you walk toward your goal, and a streak counts the days you kept going, with one rest day in seven forgiven so a bad Tuesday does not undo a good month. Below it, a card shows what is next on the road. Switch to On the trail and, if you chose to walk with the community, you will see who is near your kilometer. A single tap sends them a Buen Camino. Nobody is ranked, and a weekly goal belongs to everyone on the route together.

Add the lock screen widget and your distance, your streak and the next stop are there before you open the app.

Henry and Judy have learned a few things as well. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence you can ask either of them how RoamFolio works, and the answer is written on your phone; nothing you type leaves it unless you choose to send a suggestion. They also carry news from us now. And RoamFolio speaks Korean.

Version 1.9.6

Not everyone can set out on the Norte this month. The road along the northern coast of Spain is long, about 825 kilometres from Irún on the French border to the cathedral in Santiago, and it keeps waiting while work, family and the weather have their say. So you walk the virtual one in the meantime: to the shop, around the block, up the stairs a third time.

This update adds that road. Start a journey and allow RoamFolio to read your daily walking distance from Apple Health, and a small figure moves a little further along the coast with every step. Each of its 24 stops has a stamp and a short story, and the road cards, one for every ten kilometres, gather what you pass in between. If you like company, you can choose to walk it with the community, as on the other routes.

The last 100 kilometres, from Baamonde, are free. The full route costs 400 coins, and you can now buy coins in the app as well as earn them. We have also trimmed the steps it takes to send a postcard, so the note you wanted to write is easier to finish.

Version 1.9.1

Not everyone who longs for the Camino can pack a bag and go right away. Work, family, timing: the road keeps waiting. So you walk the virtual one in the meantime, to the shop, around the block, up the stairs for the third time, and somewhere a small figure moves one more step towards Santiago.

This update lets you share that road. If you choose to walk with the community, you'll see the people closest to you on the same route: their name, how far they've come, the stop they're near. You can send a Buen Camino and, if it feels right, ask them to be a friend. Nothing changes unless you say so. Walking with the community is off by default, your country is optional, and you can step away, block or report anyone whenever you like.

We've also opened the Camino Portugués, so there's a second road to walk, and RoamFolio now speaks Spanish. Sharing an invite opens a tidy link that copies your code for the friend you're inviting.
