You'll sign in with Apple once, during setup — there's no separate RoamFolio account, email, or password, so this is what gets you an identity in the app at all. Beyond that one-time step, everything it unlocks is entirely optional to actually use, and your stamps back up privately to your own iCloud account either way.

Signing in unlocks RoamFolio's social side, RoamPost:

• Connecting with friends by friend code or QR scan
• Sending and receiving postcards, with delivery tracked by your in-app mailman
• Letting friends see the badges and status you've shared, and seeing theirs
• Earning coins for milestones like your first stamp or first postcard, or buying a coin pack in the app, which you can spend on an Extra Postman or extra passport pages

Changed your mind later? You can sign out anytime from Account — your already-collected stamps keep working either way.

1. Open RoamPost — you'll already be signed in from setup, unless you've since signed out, in which case sign back in from Account.
2. Connect with a friend — share your friend code, or scan or send a QR code. They'll need to accept your request before you're connected.
3. Open RoamPost and choose a stamp you've already collected.
4. Pick a nearby photo to go with it — RoamFolio suggests one and frames it for you automatically, and you can add a short note.
5. Choose your friend as the recipient (or tap "Send Postcard" right from their profile) and send.

Your free Postman carries it from there on a flat delivery schedule, one postcard at a time. If the Postman is already out on a delivery, you can spend a few coins on an Extra Postman to send another postcard right away. You'll both get a notification once it's delivered.

1. Open Home — it shows which stamping stations are near you right now, live on the map.
2. Walk within range of one.
3. Tap "Stamp" right on that station's row to collect it — a haptic celebration confirms it, and you're taken straight to the passport page it just landed on.

No stations nearby? Tap "Find past trips" instead to add a stamp retroactively from an old photo — RoamFolio reads its location and date to find a match, including photos shared in from Google Photos or Files. If a photo has no location saved, supported iPhones can instead suggest a city from text and scenery in the photo, on-device, and you confirm it before the stamp is added.

Dedicated passports for specific pilgrimage and hiking trails — stamped route by route rather than city by city. They're available alongside your regular World Tour passport from My Passports, and currently cover four routes: the three Camino de Santiago routes (Camino Francés, Camino Português, and Camino del Norte) and Japan's Kumano Kodo. A separate Taiwan Top 100 Peaks passport collects a sticker for each of Taiwan's 百岳 summits and is unlocked with coins.

The four trail passports are free to unlock right now, through the end of 2026 — no coins required.

An optional way to walk the Camino Francés, Camino Português or Camino del Norte from home. If you start a journey and allow access, RoamFolio reads your walking and running distance from Apple Health and moves you along the route. It never reads your location, routes or other Health data, and never writes to Health. Only daily kilometre totals are sent to Nossa's service. The last stretch of each route is free; the full routes cost 400 coins. It's separate from your passports, so it doesn't add stamps or badges.

You can pause, leave or revoke Health access anytime, and deleting your account removes your journeys.

Yes, if you choose to. When you start a walk (or later from its Community screen) you can walk with the community. Other people walking the same route with the community can then see your display name, avatar, optional country, how far you have walked and the stop you are near, never your location or Health data. They can send you a Buen Camino cheer and ask to be friends, and you can decline. The start screen has Community pre-selected, so choose Friends only there if you'd rather walk with just your friends. You can leave any time from the walk's menu, and block or report any walker from their row.

When you collect a Trail or World Tour stamp while standing at the stop, you may be offered a box: leave a kind note of up to 150 characters, then draw another traveler's note — or occasionally a 50-coin voucher. The reader sees your display name beside your note, and you're never told who drew it. Notes can't contain links or contact details, and readers can report them.
